Risk Workshops

For Risk Teams

The following five risk workshops provide insights and strategies to help risk teams elevate the risk function from a box-ticking compliance exercise to a valuable leadership tool for helping their organisation grow and succeed.

Review Your Risk Framework

As the foundation of your risk program, getting your framework right is paramount. In this workshop I’ll help you cut through complexity and overcome the ‘this is how we’ve always done it’ mindset to create a clear guide – one that is readily adopted by your leaders and drives the desired behaviours across your organisation for navigating change, seizing opportunities, and driving growth.

Enterprise Risk Management Course

My popular ERM course offers the convenience of online on-demand learning and the benefits of experiential learning. In the first half, you’ll set your own pace to learn more about ERM essentials (principles, framework, and processes for managing organisational risk) and gain a requisite technical understanding of ISO31000 before joining a cohort online for two half days to learn the tips and tricks and ins and outs of designing and implementing an enterprise risk function to drive success for your organisation.

Mastering Risk Workshop Facilitation Course

Workshop facilitation is a challenging and, at times, frustrating task, which is why I created a course to give you the strategies and tools to capably and confidently guide groups to have the conversations that lead to good decisions and position you as a trusted and valued adviser.

Persuasive Adviser Program

Struggling to get your advice heard and acted on by the Board or CEO and other decisions makers in your organisation? It’s a common challenge and the reason I created a program to help risk professionals become more persuasive, elevating them to the coveted role of trusted adviser, whose advice is sought before decisions are made.

Risk Adviser Program

An online on-demand version of my Persuasive Adviser Program, my Risk Adviser Program is designed to give you the opportunity to discover and master at your own pace a new approach to influencing your organisation’s decision makers – one that has helped hundreds of risk professionals across Australia achieve greater cut through with their advice.

About My Workshops

My workshops can be delivered in person, either in-house or offsite, and conveniently online. Each workshop is tailored to your needs with a well-proven preparation methodology that ensures the time of senior leaders is better than well spent, it’s invaluable.

To date I’ve run workshops for hundreds of public, private and not-for-profit organisations both large and small across Australia and New Zealand, as well as for clients as far afield as Canada, the country of my birth.

Testimonials

Bryan invested the time to understand the complex components of our business, the environments that they operate within, and what their key drivers are. His pragmatic style worked well with our leadership team and his structured approach ensured all voices were heard to identify the strategic risks of each business unit.

Leonard Hansen, Chief Risk Officer, EBOS Group

Bryan has been fantastic for us, he has been very influential. He has challenged our thinking and has worked really well at all levels of our organisation. He has been a breath of fresh air around risk management and changing thinking about risk as a value add and a real cultural function of the organisation. He has really revitalised our discussion around risk at Beyond Blue.

Mark Burke, Chief Business Officer, Beyond Blue

Bryan helped us put in place a rigorous strategic risk framework. To be honest, I was dreading it. I’ve been through this so many times in other contexts with the end result never hitting the mark. But this was different. Bryan’s pre-work with the executive team was thorough. His workshops were engaging. And most of all he held us to maintaining a strategic view of our risks and our risk appetite. He listened, strived to understand our fairly unique context, and played back for us a framework we can genuinely use to manage the department. And in the process, he restored my faith that there are risk consultants capable of creating pragmatic yet effective frameworks. Well, one anyway.

Mike Kaiser, Director-General, Queensland Department of the Premier and Cabinet

Bryan has been excellent in facilitating a training session with our team on project risk management and benefits realisation. His engaging style and unique ability to connect across the team made the session both valuable and memorable.
